Prior to the surgery

Before arranging the day of the surgery, the eye health and patient’s general health are seriously examined by the doctor to make a decision whether the patient is a suitable candidate for the laser eye surgery. If everything is OK, a special computer-based correction program is created individually for the patient.

The examination takes about two hours. It is advised to take sunglasses with you and not to drive just after the examination because eye pupils have to be dilated by using special eye drops during the examination. Vision will be blurred for approximately 4 hours after the examination. It is also very important not to wear contact lenses for at least 2 weeks prior to the examination.

If the patient for some reason IS NOT A GOOD CANDIDATE for a laser eye surgery, IT DOES NOT MEAN that there is no way to reduce or eliminate the use of eyeglass dependence. Our clinic provides surgical alternatives for acquiring a clear vision – the implantation of phacic lenses (ICL or Implantable Contact Lenses). ICL's are, in fact, a great opportunity for those who are not ideal candidates for LASIK.
